PARAFFIN SCIENCE

The general operating principle of our tool utilizes physics to drive chemistry which causes an increase in molecular solubility of the bulk crude oil fluid, thereby minimizing or preventing paraffin crystallization and deposition.

Our technology prevents paraffin crystallization and deposition through the transmission of acoustic waves via lattice oscillations (vibrations) of our tools solid alloy composite material, which is enhanced by reservoir heat and pressure.

The normal-mode oscillations and transmitted waves are ‘tuned’ to be in resonance with the low-frequency molecular oscillations of crude oil bulk fluids.

This increases the amplitude of the reservoir fluids oscillations at preferred frequencies providing the energy necessary to increase paraffin solubility enough to withstand the up hole decreases in temperature and pressure.

Installation of our tool downhole, below levels of paraffin crystallization and deposition, yields oil samples that are higher in paraffin than pre-t00l oil samples due to a decrease in paraffin deposition in the well.

PARAFFIN CASE HISTORY

When Diamondback looked at the trajectory of paraffin build up even with conventional chemical method, where you have paraffin caked on after 3 months and the Enercat method where it is free and clear, they realized that these two trajectories were going in completely different directions. As a result, they decided to continue to utilize Enercat technology in wells where they have severe paraffin problems to mitigate paraffin formations, prolong time between failures and ultimately reduce operating expenses.
